COSTA CALIDA

Costa Calida, also widely know as Murcia, translated means “the warm coast”, is one of the most beautiful places on the southern portion of the Iberian Peninsula. Costa Calida is a beach lover’s paradise as it holds some of the worlds most amazing and secluded beach areas.

This area is roughly 250 kilometers long and has more daylight hours than most areas in Europe. Investment properties have been growing steadily in this area over the past few years and it has made the way for the development of a large number of fabulous golf resorts, not to mention its reputation for great Spanish food. The region is referred to as the “Golf Mecca “of Europe. Its crystal clear waters and blue flag beaches are among the main reasons why Costa Calida is one of the top tourist destinations in all of Europe. Many beach activities are easy to access and include windsurfing, diving, snorkeling, water skiing and lots more.

La Manga is located in an area between what locals call "Two seas" the Mediterranean and a large salt lagoon called Mar Menor. The area is famous for the water sports and windsurfing due to its windy location. The other main area attraction is of course the world renowned La Manga Country Club with its 3 championship golf courses. There is a large nature reserve and trekking, horse riding, mountain bikes and fishing available. The Plazas of Los Alcazares, San Javier, La Manga, Mazarron and Cartegena are lively in the evenings with a choice of bars and restaurants. Or you can take in the views at the marinas where you can hire a boat or jet skis.

There is a great diversity of landscape in Murcia – from the coast and the Mar Menor, to breathtaking mountainous areas, to the wide arid plains where many spaghetti Westerns were filmed (the sets were left behind and there are three ‘Wild West’ theme parks to visit). Inland there are some wonderful natural parks such as the Sierra Espuna walking and hiking trails, mountain biking and even parasailing and mountaineering if you are really energetic. The inland area of Murcia is relatively untouched by tourism and is a fabulous place to explore. The cities such as Murcia, the holy city of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Port city of Cartagena are all excellent places to explore the wonderful architecture, fantastic fiestas and of course … shopping!
